Telephone Triage Programme

Full downloadable programme and booking sheet. Or you can book online.

Next course is at the Hilton, Bristol, M4/M5 Junction Thursday June 11th 2009.

Cost: £195 per delegate.

Led by Dr David Berger, a highly experienced triager, this course has been running for over five years with enormous success. It will take you through a consultation model for telephone triage, before going on to examine the pitfalls and the tricks of the trade which go with the job.

Then you will go on to listen to real calls in small groups, led by a facilitator who will be an experienced Out of Hours GP. You'll discuss the call sheet to start with, before listening to the call and analysing what went well and what could have been done better. Finally, you'll look at the outcome of each call, as far as is known. This is the real meat of the course and the experience you will gain is unparalleled.

By the end, you will feel much more confident and have gained some really useful insights into triage, even if you've been doing it for years.

Any GP who regularly undertakes Out of Hours work should attend this course and it is highly relevant for in-hours work too, where the telephone call is often not accorded the status and respect it requires.
