Course Tutors for Telephone Triage
Dr David Berger
I have been doing Out of Hours work for
many years now and first became interested
in the ins and outs of telephone triage work
out of necessity: I was doing regular overnight
triage shifts and triaging up to 60 calls a night.
Getting comfortable with it was a question of survival. Out of this grew the telephone triage workshops which I have been running for Devon Doctors for over five years.
This kind of work is difficult and challenging, but I can't get away from a fatal fascination with it. One of the most interesting things about doing the triage courses is that every group is different and each group brings up something new. Some groups have made me change my views on a particular recorded call, sometimes quite dramatically.
There's more about me here. I hope to see you on the course!
Dr Paul Dryden
I am a GP who qualified many years
ago in Leeds. I have worked in a variety of
primary care settings including the military,
prisons, and occ health. My Out of Hours experience
has been gained in a number of areas in Central
and South West England.
I have been the Clinical Director of an Out of Hours organisation for the last four years. Telephone triage has been a particular interest of mine.
Interests outside of work are largely sporting although my level of
participation has diminished as my joints have aged!
