Dear Practice Manager and GP Colleagues,
I have been a six session NHS GP Principal at
the Exmoor Medical Centre in Dulverton,
Somerset since 2004. I am a highly experienced,
45 year-old GP Principal, used to balancing the
real world with the wrinkles of the QOF, the QIPP,
GP dispensing and what have you. I can work to
deadlines, make decisions and take responsibility
I am the kind of GP you can feel confident leaving
in charge of your practice and your patients.
I have successfully steered the practice, in conjunction with my two partners, through some major developments: a transition to a new clinical system (from the legacy Microtest to iSoft Synergy) and a paperless practice, a multi-million pound new practice development in 2009, the instigation of a five day a week volunteer-run medication delivery service, a radical change in staff and GP working patterns and many other challenges of the kind we all face in our day to day working lives as GP Principals.
Outside the practice, I am a non-executive director of the BMJ Group Ltd and on the advisory board of the Informatica Systems BMJ Group sub-unit, a leading vendor of GP audit and appointment software. I have had a variety of other business interests over the years, some of which you may well have come across. My biography page at the Exmoor Medical Centre site carries more background information about me. You can also download my full CV.
I am now available for GP locums, and to help with any other GP or practice development work, on most Tuesdays and Thursdays and on other days by arrangement.
I look forward to working with you.
Yours,
David Berger
